Couple of weeks ago I mentioned I was going to empty a very large jardiniere of large bushes and shrubs - was waiting for appropriate weather conditions and of course the garden chap helping me.
Well, we did it this morning and replanted all of them in a new flower bed we cut out of the grass at the front of the house. It was definitely meant to be so fingers crossed the rooting systems adjust well to their new environment - it looks so lovely right now even though it's raining. I have bordered the bed with some very large rocks and lots of Rosemary. The large bushes (which I can't remember the name of flower all year round) To this side of the house which is where there is an expanse of unused ground, recently planted fruit trees and olive trees I always felt the lawn looked so empty apart from the olive trees round the perimeter which sit in front of the Piracanthea and Wild Daphne hedges in front of our fence. It has so changed the look of the garden and kind of compliments the lawn at the other side of the entrance to our grounds where there are similar rockery/flower beds. Gardener even said this was meant to be.
Now I can fill the jardinieres with geraniums (perfect spot for them) and hope they come on as well as those in the jardinieres to the front of the house.
Kind of chuffed with my bit of recycling today and I managed to get lots done in the house. Only disappointment is the washing that's on the line and it's tipping down - didn't notice - was too engrossed to notice when the heavens opened.
What's everyone else doing in their gardens these days? Have you finished your project Chilla with the dry bed?
Anyone making changes in their garden?
