As I mentioned this morning, OH has been in London at a meeting to give a talk. He headed for Victoria Station aiming to get the train about 8pm. The journey is 1 hour 40 mins.
However that train was cancelled and he was told the next one went at 8.30pm. Next thing I know is that that one has been cancelled. So he got a train to Brighton, and was then getting a train from there to Chichester.
He has just phoned to say he is in Brighton but all trains to Chichester are cancelled and they recommend going back to London and getting a train to Southampton and then another one to Chichester! He is hoping they are laying on a bus to somewhere but God knows where.
On top of that, his phone is a pay as you go. It had just under £20 on it when he left yesterday and now has virtually nothing. Being a technophobe, he hasn't a clue how to top it up!
So I have absolutely no idea when he will be home. If his phone doesn't run out, he will call me to let me know what is happening but at this rate they are going to run out of trains!
And to top it all off, when he went to collect his bag at the meeting, someone has taken his by mistake! In it is his washable, which is no problem but also his laptop! The company running the meeting has now emailed all the delegates but it could take a while to get back.
I sometimes wonder why he agrees to do these things. I think it is called ego
