3D Non-Surgical Face Lift

The 3D Non-Surgical Face Lift includes the Titan™, Laser Genesis™ and Trilipo™ combination, which are the three powerful collagen building treatments that work together to result in skin lifting and tightening.

The treatment starts with the Titan™ treatment, which is known in Hollywood as a “Non-Surgical Face Lift”.

Titan™ is an FDA approved treatment where an infra-red device heats the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate cells known as fibroblasts to build collagen. Titan™ can improve jowls, sagging cheeks, laxity in the neck and even droopy eyelids with repeated treatments. To lock in the heat generated by the Titan™, it is followed with Laser Genesis™.

Laser Genesis™ is also known as the pre-party treatment that targets the second layer of the skin but focuses more on improving texture. Laser Genesis™ is also an FDA approved treatment that can improve fine lines, pores, acne scars by building collagen in the superficial layers of the skin.

Lastly, it is followed with theTrilipo™ Technology that simultaneously improves collagen and elastin stores, while gently contouring the face. The treatment takes approximately 90 minutes.

After the treatment is a recommended quick makeover using glō•minerals™ mineral make-up, if desired. With the Cutis 3D Non-Surgical Facelift, you will walk out with improved skin lifting and tightness, without any downtime.

CANAL COINCIDENCES!

  • Born in Venice - just a few canals!!!!
  • From age 5 - 21 - lived in council house which had a garden that backed on to the Wyrley and Essington canal (also known as the Curley Wyrley)
  • In 2 weeks time - moving to a house that fronts onto the Trent and Mersey canal.

When I realised all my canal connections, it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Is there anyone else with a similar experience?

London Pics from Tim Peake on the ISS.

The orbit must be taking the ISS over London this week as Major Tim's posted for 2 days in a row.

First this one labeled "Looking to the east along the Channel with UK on the left and France on the right. Streetlights from the densely-populated London, Paris and Brussels glow brightly in the centre of the picture."

And this one from a bit ago with caption, "London midnight Saturday – I’d rather be up here…but only just!!" #toughcall

OH and I have just been having a coffee and have both been completely taken by surprise at how upset we are on hearing the news about Terry Wogan - after all, we never knew him personally. We were reminiscing about the Radio 2 Breakfast show, and how we used to both set off for work in the morning, in completely opposite directions, some days depending on where I was working well over 100 miles apart. We each knew the other was listening to TW so it extended the link between us in the mornings, and in the evenings there would often be a conversation started with "did you hear TW say...such and such this morning?" His programme is intrinsically linked with both of our uk working lives.

Many of you know that prior to moving here 19 years ago I had a very happy career in the NHS for just short of 25 years. I did not return to the uk for 11.5 years - for the first few years we were too broke for anything except necessities, then after that I had Little or no interest. What drew me back after all those years was the news that the site where I used to work had been bought by developers, and all the buildings were to be demolished to make way for an exclusive housing estate. I came back for three days for a final look at it , and as a friend's husband drove us away (she had also worked there for many years, as had her mother before her) we were both in floods of tears, and had actually stroked the walls of the building before we left.

In the back of one of my cupboards there is a coffee mug. The glaze on the inside is completely worn away from the stirrings of probably thousands of cups of coffee, and on the outside the pattern is completely faded. It is my old work mug, and accompanied me through countless office and hospital moves. Now too hideous to use, but I couldn't part with it, and was so upset when it got accidentally broken when being moved a few weeks back, that OH actually glued it back together for me. If someone else went through that cupboard they would wonder why on earth such an ancient and unuseable mug hadn't been thrown out years ago.

Everyone can totally understand anyone hanging on to things associated with a dearly loved friend or family member, such as photos or belongings , which acquire anímate status because of their previous owners, but a building is just that - bricks and mortar. A coffee mug is just a piece of china, and the voice of TW just emanated from a radio, he was not a live being in our lives. Yet my attachment to these inanimate objects is still fiercely intense. It's not as if I am unhappy with my present life - couldn't be more opposite, and have a need to hang on to a past which I may perceive as being happier. Perhaps its just a need to preserve aspects of the past, and a wish for it to remain untouched by time.

Do you have similar feelings for material things, which you have not parted with that have nothing to do with any individual person, or your home, but to a time or aspect of your life?

Greetings from New Zealand!

Was going to add some photos but they are too big and for some reason, I can't make them smaller as I usually do. Have the internet here and it is very very slow but that shouldn't make any difference.

After 2 very long days at sea, where the view was either sea, sea or sea, it was lovely this morning to wake up and see land! We are at Milford Sound in Fiordland in NZ. Extremely pretty. We were also lucky that we have blue skies and sunshine. Will be in Dunedin tomorrow and then we can actually walk on terra firm!

Looking definitely healthier than when we left!

DIL dropped us off at the boat, with 3 year old GS in the back but when she went to set off again, the car wouldn't start due to a flat battery (if you saw the car you would not be surprised!). The security man was not impressed but the little man at the barrier to let you come through to drop people off asked every taxi driver if they had jump leads!
Greetings from New Zealand!

Rather cross with Boots Pharmacy

They have a "System" for ordering reguar medication, which rarely works. I get a text to say my meds were ready so went down there to get it, to find only 1 of 5 things was there! "Oh, that was on a seperate sheet, they said." I asked if they could possibly dispense the other 4 things at the same time as I didn't want to make 4 more trips back (or even one, as I thought how stupid they were to have sent me a text in the first place). Then I'm told a med I use to steady my irregular heartbeat is in short supply will not be available until July at the earliest and that they have known about it for some time (but not seen fit to tell me.) When I asked what I should do then, they said they would contact my GP to put me on "something else" I was livid.

When exactly was somebody going to tell me, the patient, about this? I presume that when it was eventually ready-because of course there will be a delay now while an alternative is found-I would just go to collect it and find a completely different drug in the bag and nobody have discussed it with me! The woman acted like I shouldn't have felt like that because there were lots of other worried people in my position. I'm sure there are, so does that mean we all have to be treated so carelessly? Fact is, I tried some awful drugs with dreadful side-effects until we found this one, such that the Cardiologist at the hospital said if this didn't work, we should consider an operation to correct the "mis-firing conduction of the heart". Blimey, I feel a bit scared now. I think this was handled SO badly by Boots that I don't trust them any more.

A Grand Day & Evening Out - My friend's Birthday Treat

;)We made it there and back and only slightly worn out and worse for wear.

My attempt at a selfie doesn't always go that well but you get the picture and where we were!

This 'Amaluna' show was amazing and we had great seats and view of the stage and above rigging from where the trapeze artists hung from and often came down from and went up to .
Brilliant costumes and wonderful, daring and at times a bit fearful acrobatics.
By the time the show was about to start only a handful of the seats were empty.
We would go again and given half a chance, it's on at the Royal Albert Hall until the first week in March.

A lo
ng day out yes, left home at 1.30 pm and got home at 10.30 pm. We got home in the dry and in one piece if slightly the bit merrier thanks to my friend buying us a pomegranate bellini aperitif each.

Calling women born in 1950s or their friends/family

There is to be a parliamentary debate on Mon 1st Feb about the unfair pension treatment for women born on or after 6th April 1951 whereby they are having to wait much longer for State Pension - with very little notice. PLEASE encourage all women born in the 1950s to go to http://ift.tt/1Si9CU3 or check out WASPI on Facebook. Thank you!

Afternoon all,

When looked in this morning l was surprised not to see anyone, other than replying to other posts.
I spent the morning cooking thinks for the freezer ready for when I'm in hospital, doing a bit each day, both savoury and sweet.
Listened to a programme on the radio about various produced "Show Boat". My mother took me to see the film in 1951 and an everlasting memory was hearing Paul Robeson singing. His low notes were and still are amazing. The programme started back with the original stage shows and the effects they had on people at that time. They went through the various singers and compared them against each other. What l didn't know was that a very young Shirley bassey recorded one of the songs, interesting.
Paul Robeson was still considered the best, very much his song.
It also reminded me of going to see the first 3D films around that time, it never really got of the ground even then. As a child going thru the grand canyon in a sml plane is still with me and felt so real.
Afternoon all,

It's the little things...

I heard on the radio that someone in Northern Ireland had one the Euro Millions and was feeling sorry for myself that it wasn't me!

A little later I was reading the paper, eating a favourite Danish pastry ( the custard one) drinking a cup of tea, then one of my favourite Joni Mitchel songs was played (For Free) on the radio and I thought, actually this is happiness. It really dos'nt take millions to enjoy the little things in life.

Don't get me wrong I would still like to have won millions.... but life is good.

What little thing has made your spirit soar today?

Good Morning Saturday - weekend again!!

Hi from Yorkshire

I'm a happily retired florist who after more than 20 years has hung up my scissors and looking forward to many years of travel and enjoying my garden and time with my husband who is also my best friend. We are finally getting round to doing things we never had the time for, before it gets too late and our legs or minds don't work.

I'm looking forward to being part of this community.

Snowshoe Art

It's been around but is always surprising and beautiful. The article says these are from Simon Beck. "Beck an engineer with a degree from Oxford who works as a map-maker and orienteer when he's not out tramping through the snow, first plots out his designs on a computer."

Article here with a link embedded to his Facebook page. There are more pictures in the article.

Alex Timpson

Just been reading about Alex Timpson who died earlier this months, the wife of the Timpson shoes, key cutting, cobblers empire.

http://ift.tt/1iPUAnr

It's fair to say I feel inadequate.

During their marriage, they fostered 90 children, adopted two despite having three of their own.

Under her influence, her husband took in ex-offenders, taking ther re-offending rates down form a naitional verage of 62 % within a year of release to less than 5% over 12 years.

The company sitll has a final salary scheme and holiday homes for the use of employees and operates a Dream Come True fund that allows staff memebers to fulfill their dreams.

She opened two pubs, one of which operated as a chef's acadamey for unemployed youngsters.

What an amazing lady. i suspect record-breaking attendance at the funeral.

Susan Boyle -v- Nicola Kirsch

Was browsing through my CD collection to play some inspiring music while I work - I'm a romantic as if you didn't know already. Anyway …..

Was about to grab Susan Boyle's first album when I came across another very shy lady who also won a talent competition. Nicola Kirsch was also a very shy lady who claimed fame probably in her 40's. Does anyone remember her/know who she is/heard her sing. I think she the closest I've heard to sound like Maria Callas but somehow she's gentler on the ear.

Have been playing the CD and singing along to some of the music - I'm getting strange looks from the dogs but it's so reminding me of when I was a little girl and would sing along to Kathryn Grayson - I could reach those high notes just like she did once upon a time. I can still hold a note but not like I used to - another reason to give up smoking as I'm sure that's what's done the damage. Well, that and maybe slight damage to my vocal chords during a thyroidectomy.

Have become all nostalgic now.

Tell me what you think ladies, who of the two do you prefer to listen too - if that is, you like this kind of singing and music?

Thought to add the pieces she sang on her first album, all beautiful and favorites of mine. Dreading No 10 as it was my Mum's favorite and she used to sing it to us. My Mum too had a wonderful voice and she taught me how to harmonize when we sang Psalm 23 together on Sunday Night's by the hearth while watching Songs of Praise.

Choice

Synopsis of above - mark Zuckerburg tweeted a picture of his wardrobe asking what should he wear today?

The joke beig that he famously limits his wardrobe to the same thing so that he doesn't have to think about what to wear.

I've found that I'm doing that more recently, though no where near that extreme. For work I always wear jeans and t, or jumper depending on the season. In fact two of the jumpers have abeen the same ones for six years and yes they are fine and will be there next year.

But it's choice all over as well. I've once been in Subway ( and found it too depressing to do again ), but the questions were...size of sandiwhc, wht type of bread, butter or not, and then onto the filling. Felt knackered from the mental hassle.

More of less choice in your life? Have we reached peak choice?

Day 19 Fredericton

Apparently there is still some issue with us in Quebec, so we hopped down to the small state of New Brunswick and their main city of Fredericton. Better to lay low and party on the proceeds of the 'pebbles' - thanks Maisie's fence. For such an elegant lady, she doesn't half know some dodgy people!

It's know as Canada's Riverfront capital.

There's the world famous Harvest Jazz and Blues festival to attend

I will be trying to introduce some techno jazz as personally jazz is a nightmare to me. I currently can't take Robin Schulz's album form my Cd player.

Won't be many people's cup of tea - but I lurve it.

it'sgot one of the best farmers markets in Canada

Fabulous friday again

Some weeks I totally lose track and don't know what day it is but I always manage by the end of them to remember Fridays - must be something to do with winding down for the weekend.

Good Morning All'

Lovely day here and predicted to stay through the weekend. Definitely have to stay home today as I really need to tackle the ironing before the laundry bin piles up again and I need to attend to the dog hair parked where it shouldn't be. Shall take the girls outside and give them a good brush through - not that it will help, just serves to loosen more to fall on the floors and sofas.

Will be visiting MIL this evening - she has picked up a cough from a visitor so is feeling a bit low. Doctor came last evening but didn't prescribe anything - just to keep an eye on her incase it goes to her chest.

If I manage my chores successfully will definitely get out in the garden today.

Have a lovely weekend one and all.
Fabulous friday again

The floating bonsai tree - a Kickstarter hit.

Will you have one soon? Cost range from $15-200. You will have to provide your own Bonsai plant.

It's done with magnets. Pretty cool, eh?

"Air Bonsai is the creation of Hoshinchu, a six-person Japanese company. It consists of two main parts: a "little star" and an energy base. The "little star" is a magnet wrapped in a sponge that allows for the transplanting of flowers. The energy base sits underneath the orb-shaped "little star" and uses its own magnet to push away from the plant, allowing the shrub to float and spin three centimeters above the base."

Is spring in the air? ….

Just asking because a Jenny Long Legs has just done a fly past over my computer screen! I am actually laughing because I'm sure she looked as confused as I am - snow one day, sunshine the next!
Is spring in the air? ….

1st Woo-hoo moment this year.

11076268_10155413580345287_966129219003144267_n.jpg

Yes as it was bright, dry and not so cold Mr DBVC and I went to see my great uncle on OH's motorbike. As uncle is in a nursing home which is around a half hours bike ride away we thought why not.

OH took the hour and a half that we were out as his lunch break.

Blue sky and very clear with little traffic as it was well past the morning rush hour when we left home.

Kent country lane.jpg
1st Woo-hoo moment this year.

Good morning - growing corn!

At least that's what I feel like I'm waiting on! A nice long list of things I should be doing but the oomph has not yet arrived. Instead of wondering why there still isn't a Morning Post, thought I'd begin one - hope I find you all well?

Obviously all very busy or maybe feeling a bit like me - too many choices - should I do the ironing now or later, should I pop down to town and buy that chicken for tomorrow, should I just sit here a while longer and stretch that cup of coffee?

Toying with the idea of putting a semi permanent wave in my hair but the thought of coming back looking like I've absorbed '1000 volts' is holding me back - on the Eve of my engagement party more years ago than I care to remember I had my first 'perm' in Greece and said then it would be my last (OH's first words were "You look like a Zulu" - an indication of how bad it was.) Just want to put some body into my long tresses - I thought long hair would be easier - I like the length but sometimes feel it looks a bit flat and I don't have the patience to be washing and blow drying every morning for the five minutes of body I achieve.

What do you all have planned for today? The Sun is shining brightly here and I'm tempted to be out in the garden after the tidy up out there I began yesterday. At the moment it feels like trying to make a silk purse from a sow's ear but at least it's a bit more weed free than it was. Have the feeling that it'll be a late starter this year as the weather is all over the place. Apparently we're to yet feel the aftermath of the USA snow storms which according to those that know (?) are working their way our way - we shall see.

Hope you all have a nice one anyway. xxx
Good morning - growing corn!

House move up-date

DEFINITELY moving before we go to Australia, not after!

It'll be so nice to have a beautiful and quirky place to move to after our adventures! It has the additional benefit of saving us mega-bucks in storage and removal fees - it'll now be just one journey from old house to new house, instead of old house to storage / storage to new house. It'll also save £60/week storage fees over 11 weeks ... gosh, that's a lot of bottles of Australian wine! ;)

Totally fedup with fashion in the shops today 4 us 50+ What were they thinking?

I took a look online then went into my nearest M & S store today.

http://ift.tt/1OPkdS4

Thinking they must have new and brighter lines in store by now I went in and was so underwhelmed.
I didn't find one thing to buy apart from stocking up on a few bits of underwear.
The colours were to my mind dull, the patterns very busy and a throw back to the dizzy 70s.

Attachment 7272

I certainly won't be buying anything from M&S this spring.
Mainly as I had such things when I was in my early teens and when I was so much slimmer to!
Most seemed to be made from man made fabric and the only thing in cotton seemed to be their jeans.
No good for me in my 50s now and with hot flushes every few hours. Is the maxi dress really that practical and who wears them?

Attachment 7273

Any suggestions where I could find clothes to suit me ladies.
I took a look at H & M online but they seem to cater for those in their 20s.
I'm 51 this summer, am a 12 to 14 and I stand 5 ft 5 but am shrinking!
B H S were just as bad and A S O S seem to cater for the over 80s and under 30s.
I prefer to be able to go into a shop to buy my clothes and comapired to ordering online as I have tried this but failed.

Totally fedup with fashion in the shops today 4 us 50+ What were they thinking?

Looks like the FF is being planned.....Wahoo!

Just in case no one is has seen it yet. There's a new thread on the CD site discussing a September date in Belfast.

I've been to 5 of them and they are a great way of meeting up with Forum pals old and new. It would be great to have a good turn out yet again. So, come on girls, what are you waiting for?

Day 17 Chicoutimi

We are on track to be back into Quebec at the end of the week, I think the furore will have died down and with our disguises, we should go unseen.

I'm undecided which colour to dye my hair

The rest of you had better get your disguises sorted out, no point going as yourselves unless you want to do more time....

Today we are in the town of Chicitoumi

here's a picture of the Saguenay river and I can't get my cursor below it s0 I'm guessing around the 10k mark since I left BugIII in my dressing gown pocket yesterday. Piddling tdown today.

Wild and wooly Wednesday

No comment on you, Woolie!

I can hear some fierce weather going on out there!

Got a trip to Birmingham today to exchange Christmas presents with youngest Stepdaughter and her OH as me and mine were too unwell to meet in December as planned. We haven't seen them in a while, so will be good to catch up and they are giving us lunch :)

Still having a bad time with my back so going to bite the bullet and make an appointment with a chiropractor as painkillers are doing exactly nothing. Legacy of a retired nurse, sadly.

Hope everyone has something enjoyable lined up for the day. x

Having my cataract done next Wednesday

Probably should have posted this on the Health one, anyway it was going to be done at the end of February, then they phoned me yesterday to say that they had a cancellation next week if I'd like it.Thought I'd take it and get it over with but although I know loads of people who've had it done,I'm nervous. I know I'm being wimpish, but the doctor I saw didn't help.I said to him that everyone I knew hadn't had any problem. He actually said to me,"I do know people who have!" Did he have to ? Anyway, back when OH had his done,he seemed to cope,so guess I will. I've always said that when I'm old,so long as I've got my eyes and hands,so I can paint and sew,I'll manage. Have any of you had it done, any tips ?eyes.gif

End of Schengen?

Greece faces being sealed off from Europe to stop migrant flow in move that creates 'cemetery of souls'

Greece will have its borders effectively sealed off from the rest of the continent under plans to tackle the migrant crisis, European leaders proposed on Monday night.

The European Commission will consider plans that would see the frontier of the Schengen zone - the area which allows passport-free travel within Europe - moved north to exclude Greece.

Athens reacted with fury to the proposal, put forward by Miro Cerar, the Slovenian prime minister, and endorsed by Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European Commission, to turn the country into what Greek ministers said was a "cemetery of souls".

It does say the EC will 'consider' but given that Juncker is inolved, it's difficult to say that it hasn't been discussed at the top of the food chain.

In response to the above on another forum, this was posted

All the old divisions will re-emerge.

Do we really want to anchor our future to an EU which shows every sign of descending into infighting?

Growth is already stagnant across the Eurozone. A couple of years ago we were asked to pay an extra few billion because of the poor growth in the Eurozone.

Another million refugees this year and I reckon we will see an armed response manning borders.

Given that the Swedes and the Danes as well as the more right of centre countrys are rejecting the free movement of people, a central tenet of the EU, it's difficult to imagine that Schengen will survive.

It's certainly grist to the mill for the brexit campaigners.
End of Schengen?

When we were in Nottingham most people were anxious to come to Belfast next time. If it's still on the agenda when suits? I can get some hotel prices if you lot still want to come

For those of you with a conservatory...............

Have any of you had the roof lined to control te temp better?

I have a rep coming to quote today, but wondered if any of you have had this done and what your thoughts are?

My main concern is the blocking of natural light into the dining room, but it is true to say that we could get more use out of it if it was more ' temperate'.

I'd be intersted in your thoughts ladies. Thanks, Genie.

Attachment 7266

Since this photo was taken on the 8th January he has gone down hill rapidly. Not wanting to eat and only having soup. He has been sleeping a lot more and when awake is switching off and not wanting to chat. He doesn't want to shave or shower so looks very poorly and has sunken in cheeks.
In the photo he is showing the baby clothes I got on his behalf and for his new great great niece Daisy Rose.

He has recently seen the GP again as well as the cancer care nurse.
The GP has taken uncle off most of his medication and as uncle can not swollow the tablets and starts to choke on them.
Instead the cancer care nurse has started him on morphine.
I have seen and know only to well this is often given at the end of life to ease and to ease and speed up the end.

I last visited him on Friday with Mr DBVC for an hour.
Any more than than this a struggle for him and us!

The nurse at the home phoned me yesterday afternoon and said he has been waking up in the middle of the night and asking the staff to phone me as he is worried and a bit confused.

So today I plan to go in and stay with him for an hour or so later this morning. An hours round journey but it is the least I can do.
I'm not sure what good it will do me being there but I don't like to think of him being alone. Even if he is grumpy about anything and everything and not chatty at all I will go.
I'll take a book in to read and some lunch to so at least he knows I am there for him.

A year of reading the world

This woman read a book from every country in the world. Not that easy to do.

It did set me wondering how many books I'd read from around the world and it's not that many. I did French and German A level, so we the literature formed part of the syllabus. I've read books by American and Australian authors, possibly NZ, Chile, Japan, China, and then I'm struggling.

http://ift.tt/1kyVYLW

Are you well read globally speaking?

Edit: there's the TED talk on this page, which is where I heard about this

A year of reading the world

The earth IS flat

Yeah, it is, flat with big ice walls all roudn the edge. Planes and ships that disappear have just fallen off the edge where its melted or sumfink.

Seriously, there are people who share this globe ( that's a round thing for the flat-earthers) who in all seriousness believe this.

The internet is a fine thing, but some of the codswallop that gains traction is,erm, unbelievalbe. Literally.

Morning Tuesday

Morning all, I have a feeling that someone will be typing at the same time as it is so late!

Are you still in bed or out and about?

I have to take my car back to the garage to have the slight leak in the roof sorted and the radio mended, lucky they are both covered by the warrenty. I shall be picking up a curtesy car as they think it could take a weak:confused:

After that it will be ironing, and a snooze ~ still waking at 3 and staying awake until it is time to get up. Feel as if I have a hangover at the mo ~ must get some Borrocca, which is quite good for boosting the energy.

I do hope the ladies in Wales and North England are not too affected by the rain which is due.

Have a good Tuesday ,

Day 16 Sept Iles

Yes, well Strickers you aren't going to see Quebec just yet.

Kiwi came back, combed out the diamonds from the cows hair

I think that may need some tidying up, and the cow does not look overly happy tbh.

Anyway, with the rest of the diamonds and a fence friend of Maisies ( might have known, she always finds the wine and drugs ), we've managed to convert the diamonds into cash and organise an escape.

makes you realise how unfit you are when you ahve to hang onto a rope for a few miles whilst Quebec lies half a mile below your dangling feet. But we did well and on the plus side we have that much money over from the diamonds, that we can afford a good physio for our pulled shoulder muscles.

Now we have to stay out of Quebec for a few days until the furore dies down and the new prison governor is installed. We may have to change out looks as well a bit.....

So today we are in Sept Iles

I know this might come as a bit of a surprise, but the place is named after the seven islands offshore. Clever eh?

This website has a wealth of information if you want to peruse the area.

http://ift.tt/1KBvS37

We are on the mouth of the mighty St Lawrence river and it's a bit wild by the many rivers that rush down to the sea.

Royal Navy Icebreaker "Protector"

Has been in NZ for a week taking a break from their duties in Antarctica and I had the opportunity to go aboard on Sunday for a bit of a tour around the place. What did amaze me though is they had all their weapons out on display for everyone to look at. Here they would be kept under lock and key and not shown to tourists and visitors so obviously all the boys were impressed seeing them. There were some great views from the ship looking back around Lyttelton as well.

For those of you who are interested in boats I have added a few pics.

Day 15 Do you speak French?

That's the trouble with Quebec, there's some stroppy policemen around refusing to speak English. Which as all british people know, every foreigner should......

Here's a laminated card that I've made for each of you with appropriate phrases on:

Je suis aceueilli un appel telephonique - I am allowed one phone call

Est mon avocat ici encore? - Is my lawyer here yet?

L'orange ne me conviennent pas - orange doesn't suit me

Je ne savais pas qu'ils etaient vole - I didn't know they were stolen.

Nous étions à peine l'a rencontré, il m'a semblé très aimable - we had only just met him, he seemed very nice.

Diamants. Vraiment? Puis-je conserver certains? - Diamonds, really? can I keep some?

Basically it's down to Kiwi who left early for an appointment with some Britihs sailors - see how she ididn't mention it till late on, keeping them all to herself. However that means that she is actually on the right side of the prison bars. I mean I get it, Strickers being the birthday girl accepted those diamonds from the nice man in good faith, even thopugh she did wonder why he was running so fast with lots of policemen running after him. I'm sure we will sort it out soon. Ish.

TBH I had high hopes, I'm feeling a bit let down at the moment

I mean we all know what diamonds look like, don't we - well obvs because we get given them by admirers all the time

So to get these, well how were we to know?

PS Rosa, did you manage to sneak a couple into the cows topknot? Oh good, lets just keep quiet about them, sure they will come in handy when we get out.

GOOD MORNING, send that cockatoo over here!

Could have been doing with one this morning - must be the horrible damp weather. All the mountain tops round Athens are covered in snow which made for a fine view yesterday on our travels (in sunshine here and there) but today everything is just looking very brown around here instead of green - even the grass is suffering on the lawns - it's turned kind of a soggy mustard color.

Need to be washed and dressed soon as I have lots of errands this morning - was late out last night at the airport (BIL off on his travels again) and didn't get home till the other side of midnight. Did go to bed but Ruby woke me up at around 2 am to go out and I made the mistake of switching the TV on while waiting for her to do her 'tour' of the garden - there was an absorbing film on (in between smutty ads for porn, grr) so didn't go back to bed till just before 4 am then couldn't sleep as OH was serenading me with his own kind of birdsong - doesn't usually bother me but in the wee small hours when all around me is quite it sounds like he's on "Surround Sound"! Of course overslept this morning so am tripping over myself instead of being ready to leave by now.

We had a nice lunch in Athens but my goodness, I think I need to make more frequent trips. It wasn't as busy as I remember it used to be on a Sunday but I still felt a bit claustrophobic - didn't see many Greeks but lots of tourists. Heard more English being spoken than Greek. That can only be good for the city I hope.

Hope you all have nice things planned for today and if there are things not so nice to be dealt with that they're done and dusted quickly leaving you stress free too. xxx
GOOD MORNING, send that cockatoo over here!

It's that time of year again

It's that time of year when i have to renew my car insurance , had my renewal notice about a week ago and it has been shouting at me every day to deal with it , well this morning i did the usual comparison sites then went onto the site i am already insured with , it came out £20 cheaper , i then rang my insurer (free call) and asked for their best price not mentioning any other quotes i had already , they quoted me £67 cheaper than what they quoted last week , i asked why the differnce and the answer was that insurance charges change daily , so for less than 30 minutes i am £67 better off , happy days .

The bird in my photo

Is a white cockatoo with a yellow crest. They are very common in Oz.

Cuckaburras are big birds too but black and white. We saw one years ago in a park in Perth. Really sweet and goofy looking and didn't budge when we went up close to see it!

Sunny Saturday!

Morning girls, it's another lovely day here. Am just about to go out. I have massage first then the dreaded supermarket shop which I didn't do yesterday as I was glued to the TV watching the latest episode in Spanish politics. Very interesting at the moment as they are having a hell of a time trying to form a government.

Had a better night's sleep last night as I took one of the valium pills the vet gave Daisy when she twisted her back flying in the air trying to catch a bird!

mUst rush, hope you all have a good day.

NOT impressed with BA!

Following on from Sunny's thread, I thought I'd tell you about my experiences with BA this week. OH and I were given vouchers last year as a result of poor service during our flights to and from Chicago - not least giving my coeliac daughter an ordinary bread roll with her gluten free meal!

Two weeks ago I booked flights to Dublin in Whitsun half term using the vouchers, which had to be used by 11/01 this year. I then booked accommodation for us both and started planning our short break.
On Monday this week I looked on 'Manage my Booking' to find the ref no. so that I could book a hotel for the night before and parking. I

I was shocked to find out that our flights had been cancelled! We had not been notified and if I hadn't looked could have just turned up at the airport. There are apparently no other flights available so we can't go to Dublin. I was just told it was an 'operational' reason. I have since spoken to 2 people on the phone and received 3 emails. I have finally managed to persuade them to re-issue the vouchers - something they didn't originally want to do, but am not going to Dublin.

Some on Facebook are worried the monkey will tire of the puppy and eventually leave it and that's certainly possible. In the meantime he's ensuring it eats and is safe from other stray dogs. With all this attention if and when he tires of his toy, surely someone will want to take that famous puppy home. (hope hope)

Day 12 partying in Quebec for Strickers birthday

Well lets be honest here steppers, with out poor showing at the moment, we'd be lucky to step as far as the outskirts of town....so here we are a tad early in the morning ( Rosa is still in her onesie ) about to board our private jet

Oh heck, Strickers has started on the bubbles and it's only 8 in the morning, no idea who that bloke is - it looks like the airplane mechanic, guess Strickers just invited him along. Though he could probbly help sunny out with the many modifications that sunny has to make to the RV

Actually, by the time we landed, even I had lost my usual cool. Lionel Richie was singing Dancing on the Ceiling, which is plain silly...but you can dance on the roof

Right off to Old Quebec. Looks chilly, but don't worry, we barely have to put one laboutin clad shoe out of the car before we'll be into our hotel.

Thought I'd get one cultural pic in.

7269 yesterday

I'll be back later, I need to get out of my plane clothes and into downtown shopping mode before we head out tonight. i need a new party dress!
