Impressed by Easyjet

Recently I have been seeing on tv and internet that if you had been delayed on a flight by more than 3 hours you could claim compensation. Weather or things like ash cloud did not count. You can make a claim up to 6 years later
My friend and I were delayed at Alicante airport for hours on returning a few years ago. When we eventually took off they said the problem had been staff were sick and they could not get cover.
Of course I couldn't remember the date or year in fact. Anyway worked out it was 2010 because that was year of heavy snow then remembered that husband keeps diaries on the boat. I mentioned it to him and he told me the 8th September. I looked easyjet website and tried to fill in claim form but they wanted booking reference and flight number. I didn't have them. I noticed a little box to contact them so asked if there was any way they could tell me the booking reference and flight number. Got an email the next day to say they had checked the date and we were entitled to 400 Euro each.
They have been so helpful and today just 4 days later it is all sorted and the 800 Euro is going to be paid into my bank as I had booked both flights

I realise that if I h ad not enquired we would of got nothing but well impressed with easyjet staff
