I really do not like giving up on books but decided a while a go that life is too short to carry on reading something that just isn't doing it for me.
I am always reluctant when the books are so called best sellers as I think then they must get better. Two books this year I gave up~ one very early on was Kate Atkinson's Life in Ruins, I have always enjoyed her books but felt that after a good few pages there was a lot of unnecessary talk, I think I must be getting impatient in my old age and if I feel it is a load of waffle I stop! After reading virtually half of Helen Lederers Loosing it I got bored.
I can usually read a book quite quickly so know if it is taking some time I am not looking forward to picking it up.
Are you a person who feels all the need to finish a book or are you a giver upper?:o
