Day 9 Iceberg Alley

TBH I'm bouncing around newfoundland a bit because it's so large that we could be hear for a while, so rather a lot of very nice, but very samey landscape pics, I'll pop round to some of the moe interesting bits so we can get to Quebec faster ( we need to be there on Friday so that a certain person whose birthday it is, can go dancing....)

Today we are in Twillingate, at the top of what is known as Iceberg Alley. Many of theses 10,000 old icebergs just float quietly past and it's quite a tourist attraction

having said that, don't think newfoundland is completely a lost cause in terms of entertainment - it has the most pubs per head of population in Canada. Several of them have already has to place orders for more stocks - such is the power of the stepsisters.

TV ad, which is rather charming

I know it's a bit anoraky, but I found this site really interesting and bemused by the idea of towing icebergs out of the way of oil platforms.

All I can say is get into that water with your maple leaf bikini, tag.....ha...ohno, she's gone and dived /dove in...someone get a blanket. Note to self, don't dare tag when she's in swimming mode..
