Having been pretty much away from the Forum for a fortnight or more (due to family and health problems...which aren't quite resolved, but which I've come to terms with), what better way to return to the fold than with a Nosy Post!:D
a. Have you ever been to a working farm, either to stay, to visit, or to an annual, organised, "Open Farm Sunday"?
b. If you get a boxed set of CDs, or a set of books or novels, do you watch/read them all as soon as you get them (like I'm about to do with Game of Thrones!), or do you space them out, or ration yourself, to prolong the enjoyment?
c. What was the last thing you got out of your freezer?
d. Do you know your trees? Do you know an ash from a larch, for example, or a rowan from an aspen?
e. When you were a child did you collect free gifts...like those politically incorrect little characters from Robertsons jam, which you could exchange for various little politically incorrect metal badges !! Or the Beatles cards with bubble gum, or the Brooke Bond Tea Cards?
Looking forward to reading your answers, and being part of this lovely Forum again.
My answers:
a. Yes, been to a couple of farm open days. Part of Mr R's job is delivering building materials specifically designed for farms (barns etc.), and he's become quite interested in the industry.
b. See my note re. GoT above!
c. 1lb (or should that be 454gms:)?) of mince for tonights shepherds pie.
d. I'm not bad at trees. I can recognise quite a lot. My Dad could name lots of them (he came from country stock), and he taught me when I was little.
e. Yes, I collected those Robertsons g******gs, and had several badges. I remember I had the football player, and a few musicians. I also collected, and swapped, Man from Uncle and Beatles cards, and World Cup coins from 1966.
Thursday Nosy Post No. 34...and about time too!!
