Have been sitting with the TV on while reading my mail. Head down and concentrating I suddenly realized that I was hearing a foreign language and it wasn't Greek. One of our Greek television channels has created a News Spot called "News for Refugees". It is full of general news but also valuable information and advice (many of them have access to TV in the camps they are in now and also those who are in hotels or being accommodated by Greeks in their homes. It also gives them a weather report which hopefully will encourage them to take advantage of being indoors instead of mucky soaking tents.
So much better than a piece of paper being pushed in your hand listing things you don't want to read or are too tired to. The programme has Greek subtitles so I was very interested and impressed with the content.
Maybe not something you all wanted to hear but I thought it worth mentioning - I think it's encouraging for them. One thing I did pick up was that once moved to accommodation they will stay for 2 months when their individual situations will be reviewed.
For once I feel like congratulating the Media.
Well this is heartening
