Good Morning Ladies, Market day hereabouts so I'll be loading my Karotsi (trolley) into the car boot and tootling off shortly. Decided to have a browse and find some nice veg for "The Diet" man! It was 'pulses' with fresh salad leaves yesterday. Today it is boiled veg with pasta, rice or potato - just how to you make that interesting.
Managed to plant the strawberries yesterday which was a bit of a task as I laid ground cloth down then had to cut crosses in the cloth, pull back the sides then dig and plant in the holes - took an age - felt fulfilled after but hope my inclinations about no more sudden cold streaks are valid else I might end up with nothing. Read up on them so I think I know what I'm supposed to do as they grow. Did you know that the extra little 'strawblings"(?) that grow on the long shoots they send out are called "daughters" - apparently you should only leave three of them on each plant? Is that "Family Plannng?"
Another sunny day here although rain is forecast later (towards evening). I'm not sure they said if it would rain on the east side of the city - fingers crossed it won't be one of those 'hell raisers' if it does. Need to go out with the 'blower' and gather the leaves and twigs just in case - don't want the drain pumps doing a wally on me and flooding the garage again. My Dad bless him had so many tools which are now living with us and have become useful. This one (garden hoover) certainly beats sweeping!
Lovely chat with my D last night and night before lovely chat with my S. Skype was behaving itself and we didn't get cut off once. Feeling up to date on their news again and it helped pass the time till OH came home.
