I phoned Australia hoping to speak to my grand children (16 and 14 years) but got their Mum crying her eyes out.
She separated from my basxxxd son 2 years ago. They have fought constantly since. I have not spoken to him for about 8 years. She kept in touch and brings the children over every year to visit me (Past 3 years ) They are both equally to blame but the children have now moved in with their Dad and are refusing to come back to her until she agrees to do as they want. They normally spent a week with each parent.
They arrived at her house on Saturday for more clothes and she became hysterical with crying.
My son was made redundant in April and wants her to pay half of the school fees. She resisted but has now started paying half monthly and got them a $10,000 grant split between both parents.That just covers part.
She will not do as the children want which is to accept emails, phone calls or meet with their father.Because she says he is constantly nasty to her every time. I expect this is true both ways !
It will not work ! Two years of that proves it. I and her solicitor suggest an intermediary. They have done that before to no avail but she says she will. Don't know how honest that is !
She says she won't beg the children to come back ! She is very angry. She has never got on with her daughter but has with her son (14 yrs).
So much manipulation going on, and lies. My son is better at it than her !
I spoke to my grand daughter a week ago by email and gave ALL my sympathy to her and grandson. Lovely reply but angry at Mum !
I will try again by phone tomorrow to talk to the children, Any advise ? I WON'T take sides.
Hated hearing DiL crying. She still loves my son so has been down for 2 years, though met a boyfriend 7 months ago. My son is on his 5 th partner in 2 years and is happy.
Sometimes I wish I'd just bred animals instead of children. Any chance of a refund ? Or a trade in ?
