Patchwork

Some of you commented that you wouldn't have the patience. I thought that ,although l loved the quilts and patchworks. In the 90's l met a friend whose daughter was doing a patchwork cushion for her sister for Christmas. I made the comment l would love to do that but l wanted things done like yesterday!! My friend pointed out that if l made one sq the size of a cushion it wouldn't take me more than a week and l would need approximately six 12by12 to have a quilt! I've never looked back. Using iron on vilene l once made a cover 6ft by 7ft in three weeks!!
The one I'm doing at the moment is for my. S's partner she fell in love with some doll patchwork sqs, then didn't know what to do with them. So asked me. I suggested that they should be framed to show them up ,we decided on red. then picked out a green that matched up with the dolls skirts. Then using the fabric from the 'framing'( the red ) l cut sqs and framed them in a patchwork design using the greens. then using some old fabrics l picked out colours from the dolls clothes. Having decided to do the bulk in white l added the colours in triangles in between the white, different whites in two inch strip's. Put together this then made a sq of 150cm. I am now going to sew the white stripes around the whole thing to make a 2,m square patchwork with maybe a coloured triangle just in the corners.... I'm having trouble as have others with getting a photo up so this is the text and l will try separately with the photo.
