Anyone heard the cuckoo yet?

For the past couple of days I have been hearing one giving it laldy. In this part of the world, we don't have a big variety of birds - mostly sparrows, so it was lovely to hear. Ysterday in my fountain there was a robin and a blackbird, both rare around here. I think the blackie is the same one who made a nest in my hedge last year. However, he seems to have lost his mate and is looking a bit lonely. Wish I could find him one. The sparrows are all building nests - behind the air-conditioning motors and under the awnings. It always amazes me how they manage to build the nests without interfering with the mechanism!

What birds have you got around at the moment? Must say I am enjoying watching Zib's eagle.
