The emnergency services carried out an exercise to see how they would deal with a terrorist attack at the Trafford Centre, a large shopping complex near Manchester. It was hailed a success and involved 800 volunteers

Given that the UK has frequent threats made against it and only the efforts of the spooks and the police have prevented something happening, seems like a good idea to me. France and Belgium have suffered recently, sooner or later, something will happen here.
As part of it, and IMO, to give it realism, the pretend 'terrorist' shouted 'Allahu Akbar' before detonating his explosion.
Then we get this:
Manchester peace activist Dr Erinma Bell criticised the use of a "Muslim terrorist".
She said "a terrorist can be anyone" and "we need to move away from stereotypes".
And the police have rolled over and said sorry
However, on reflection we acknowledge that it was unacceptable to use this religious phrase immediately before the mock suicide bombing, which so vocally linked this exercise with Islam. We recognise and apologise for the offence that this has caused."
Well if you want it to be realistic, then that's what happens. Scratching my head to remember how many Hindus, Quakers and Church of the Flying Sphaghetti Monster advocates are shouting out to their god and then trying to kill as many as possible.
