I love Advent-such a special time for lots of people. When Mum was alive, I started a tradition of getting one to fill with little daily presents, as well as a Christmas/crib scene. It was my way of giving her a few more gifts and some years I had to really wrack my brain to find 24 cute little things to fill the pockets and the first time I did it, she wrote me a poem to thank you and mentioned every one of those gifts in rhyme, bless her!
I would never buy one of the very expensive ready-made ones because I'd rather spend the money for someone for Christmas day itself but this year I did buy a scented candle one for my Stepdaut with a tealight for each day because it's just a more modern version of the one big candle that many of us light each day during Advent. She then surprised me with this one, which I'm thoroughly enjoying with my morning tea.

Can you guess (if you're not on FB), what WSM means? Makes me laugh every time I look at it.
Someone was very snotty about it in terms of it not having anything religious on it but I bet she watches The Snowman and cries every year like I do! I spend plenty of time thinking about the real meaning of Christmas and if Jesus was here I'd give him a choccy snowman!
The other thing I do have is an e-calendar. It's so beautiful and I'm sure you all know the on-line greetings card company who make them. If not, PM me your email addy and I'll send you an ecard. Soooo lovely.
Anyway, please let's hear about your calendars. x
Advent Calendars-traditional, choccy or anything else?
