Gluten free recipes and advice

Picking your brains ladies. YS's partner is now intolerant to anything with corn. One of those joyous things that has appeared as he has got older (he is 61). I have said I will take the ingredients for an apple crumble over Christmas as I have lots of apples already prepared in the freezer. Normally I would make up the crumble, put it in a tupperware box and assemble it at their place.

But I need some alternatives to the crumble mixture. I thought of oats and perhaps nuts (though OH doesn't really like nuts). Could you give me some ideas.

Also, I read on google that Cornflour is gluten free which sounds a bit weird. Can someone confirm this for me. I'm now thinking about the gravy for "the bird".
