Another Monday

Already …

Hope everyone is fine, relaxed after the best two days in the week and raring to go!

Can't say I am of the latter disposition but did however enjoy the weekend. We had a great time at the BBQ, it was entertaining from start to finish including watching the hens and cats ambling up the drive (with caution) following their noses to the food - three large dogs waiting for them at the top! My friend feeds 16 cats, 2 Cockerels, six hens (lovely eggs) and three dogs all of which drooled for the duration. They have one of those lovely outdoor ovens and a built in BBQ with rotisserie - the cats guarded the oven door while warming themselves on the external bricks. Thankfully the Sun shone while we indulged in our wine, beer (both home made and delicious) and sampling of grilled veg and meat - the skewers on the rotisserie were a metre and a half long and filled with meat, tomatoes, peppers while underneath on the grill were sliced aubergines and home made sausage all sizzling away. We are becoming more and more self sufficient with our food here in the wilds which is wonderful and I gratefully accept fresh eggs from the nosey hens my friend has as our chicken coop and contents have not transpired yet.

I'm confined to barracks today as OH has the car (snow predicted so he won't use his motor bike for work.) He didn't get off to a great start however as last night on our arrival home he forgot to switch off the car lights and is now sporting a flat battery. Things to do, places to go etc he will keep me company a while yet until we're all charged up agin. Glad is wasn't me as he is not best pleased.

Hoping to tackle the downstairs level of the house today and do some serious cleaning - I often forget it's there as I never need to go down there except to clean so it's sprucing up time again - oh dear! I know I won't make a start now till OH leaves - not that I'm short on excuses for delay tactics.

It's very dull outside and cold - was 1C in Athens this morning at 7 am, it's 6C here now. Have checked the weather forecast and we will supposedly be 'sleeting' by 2pm followed by the fat fluffy white stuff this evening and tomorrow. We might not see much of that as we're further East and a bit milder (she hopes) - don't want to be without wheels for too long.

Have a good week everyone. xxx
