What do you do with your dog when getting work done in the house

just wondered what do you do with your dog or dogs when you have work being done in the house. We are having fitted bedroom soon and I'm not sure whether to put our little dog in kennels for the day. My friends who ar at home have dogs so can't take her. The work will take 1 or 2 days. She is just a friendly nosey little dog but of course I don't want her getting in their way...

If it was going to take a week I would put her in kennels but just for a day seems unnecessary? I don't like the idea of not being here either when work being done.
