Many of you know about my learning disabled brother, who is battling with cancer (something called a follicular abdominal lymphoma), and also with severe spinal arthritis. He was nick-named Clutterbug on the Forum when he found out that we all had Forum names, and he wanted one one too!:) He lives in supported accommodation, about 150 miles away from me, so caring for him is done long-distance. He can be very difficult to cope with because of his learning disability, and his personality disorder, but he's my brother...so I do what I can for him.
Anyway, when he was first diagnosed, in addition to caring for him, I was also coping with my MIL and my Dad who were also both very ill, and who have since passed away. At the time, I would have gone under if it hadn't been for the care and support of all my lovely Forum friends. Not only did you all help me, but you also helped Clutterbug, by sending him get well cards when he was in hospital (organised by our lovely amelica) and postcards from your holidays.
His first diagnosis was back in 2011, and we were told that he probably wouldn't last 12 months. Well, it's 2016, and he's still here. He's far from well, with severe mobility problems, unpleasant symptoms from the cancer, and side effects from his meds...but he just keeps on going.
The reason I'm posting this today is that it's his birthday...and he's 69...which, after the recent posts about David Bowie and Alan Rickman, is a bit worrying!
Can I ask you all to send my very brave, (but sometimes very annoying!:)) brother positive Forum vibes, to see him through yet another year.
