MIL's foot is getting better but sadly, she isn't!

I thought you would be amused to hear the latest with MIL. She has bought herself a new TV as she thinks she will see the picture better in HD. Of course being 92, she doesn't have to pay for a licence and only watches BBC but she didn't believe me when I told her that she was paying a fortune for Sky when she could have Freeview for nothing. She also thinks she is only paying £8 a month for it! There is no way she will show us any account or her bank statement (I don't think she trusts us) so we can't prove it and of course, she knows better than anyone. Her Sky contract also includes broadband. However, she doesn't even own a computer and they have sent her a router!

SIL phoned last night and spoke to OH. We knew when she was looking after MIL, following the operation, it would be a case of light blue touch paper and stand well back but it was so bad that SIL now never wants to speak to her mother again and indeed, has not been in touch with her since MIL had her outpatient appointment while we were away.

BIL of course can do no wrong. He phones her everyday but of course has never been to visit!

The final bit is priceless. OH has probably saved MIL's foot and independence by getting her to Exeter for her latest surgery. Everybody realises how much he has done for her. Except for MIL it seems! When SIL said to her how much he had done, she totally denied it!! Makes you wonder why you even bother!
