Do you use soup spoons rather than any old spoon when having soup?
Not a very exciting topic I know. But I like to use soup spoons.
Also does anyone actually own a tablespoon? You often hear mention of a "tablespoon" of something in recipes. When I was growing up I remember asking what it was, and was told it's just a bit bigger than a dessert spoon. We obviously didn't have one -just had to improvise!
When we got engaged, someone gave us a beautiful set of Newbridge cutlery silver-plated pastry forks which I love to this day. They always make eating cream cakes feel special and posh. And as a consequence I often buy pastry forks as an engagement present - a little old -fashioned I know and wouldn't suit everyone.
Next I'll be telling you about my candlelit suppers and dinner service with the hand-painted periwinkles!!;)
