All good plans to keep daily journal gone to waste! Temperature 39* yesterday and 38* today so totally brain-addled!Wednesday was chill out day and supermarket shopping - oh so cooooooool!
Thursday was Yanchep National park and 40/50+ wild kangaroos up close and personal. Two large family groups ate/played in front of us for ages, unbelievably in middle of day! Saw beautiful captive koalas in natural enclosure, then drove to Burns Beach for coffee and sunset.
Friday, very cultured! Spent couple of hours in WA art gallery, then headed for China Town in vibrant 'alternative' Northbridge. Ended up having great coffee n salad in air-conditioned 'Dome' cafe bar.Friday evening was something else! Lady in the Van under the stars in Kings Park, complete with bean-beds and picnic! Love Maggie Smith but have to sat didn't enjoy film ...
Today, a lazy day planning Great Ocean Road and Indian Road trips, but did go to Old Perth Road evening market at sundown and bought hippy-style silk wrap around skirt, for which OH bought me beautiful matching earrings. Aaah.Amazing that we could reserve an outside table at the pub, have a drink, wander off round market, then come back to same reserved table, have another drink and order meal!
I love Emily Barker - singer/songwriter who composed & sang theme tune for BBC's Wallender. Turns out she's singing at that very club next Friday. AUD$10 at the door, so guess where we're going next Friday?????Tomorrow, a bbqed Sunday roast with 'beer can chicken'. Loving it!!!!
