...why not?
Some of you may know (or have even noticed!:)), that I have a blemish on the tip of my nose, that looks like a large spot. I've had various diagnoses over the years, but I've now been told, definitively, that it's a haemangioma. Nothing to worry about, just a bit unsightly, especially in hot weather when it looks particularly red and angry.
I recently had a (benign) lesion removed from my back, and I asked the Dermatology Consultant about my nose, at the same time. Although he removed the one on my back, as it was causing symptoms, he wouldn't remove the one on my nose as it's regarded as a cosmetic procedure (two years ago he would've done it, but financial constraints have made the NHS move the goalposts).
So I'm having it dealt with privately. It's costly, especially as it's just a cauterisation, but I think it'll be worth it. It's actually the second appointment I've made, but recent events caused me to cancel the first one. I was in two minds whether or not to re-book...but I just did, and I'm seeing the Consultant on Monday.
I'm probably just being vain, but I'm very aware of the wretched thing, and it's not easy to cover any more, as it stands proud from my skin. So, I'm treating myself!:)
If there was something (anything...not necessarily a procedure like mine, just anything) that you could treat yourself to, that you don't really need, but would really, really, like, what would it be?
An Odd Way to Treat Myself But...
