Over the last couple of weeks I've been lucky enough to receive flowers from several Forummers. One of the bouquets had some freesia buds, which have now opened into a delicate mauve/lilac/blue colour. The most striking thing, though, is their scent; it's absolutely glorious and, even though the vase is on the dining room table, the perfume is noticeable when you walk in the front door. It's not heavy or over-powering; it's actually quite a delicate scent, and it's just lovely.
On the other hand, when Clutterbug was in hospital, I went into the hospital chapel, where there was a bowl of dark pink hyacinths. Although I wanted to stay there for a while, I had to leave as I couldn't abide the smell.
Do you have a favourite flower scent...and a least favourite?
