I guess in this day and age nothing is made to last.
What really annoys me are those silly little plastic "barbs" on new packs of three pairs of socks. You get them home and cut the barb off and somehow they leave little holes in things that slowly ladder and look awful. Guess there is no way around it.
Knicker elastic is another. Have you noticed most are made cheaply in Asia and after 10 washes the elastic wears thin.
I remember my parents got for their wedding electric kettles and toasters etc. that would still be going strong if not for looking old fashioned and dated and being ditched. But now you are lucky to get a year out of a kettle.
Hell even shoe laces look tacky and fall apart quickly too.
Makes you wonder how much stuff is filling up the landfill tips because everything is made so poorly.
