On another track a book is being published, (a short extract was in the paper) about hidden things in our food.eg Kellogg's corn flakes, contain a lot of sugar and salt and has little fibre and not much nutrition.
A yoplait with natural fruit, contains 13%friut a113additives plus thickener. It could be a simple yogurt with fruit.
A beef bourguignon ready made, sugar, powered vegetables artificial flavours and conservatives.
Good things are also in the list.
Much to my surprise Nutella was acceptable but they felt you should look for those without palm oil.
Kellogg's all bran was considered good,little sugar, rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals.
Written by a man who is interested in his food and researched by various dietitian:'S and scientific journalist's.
He listed 323 one should not buy and there were 107 you should be careful about. He claimed many gluton free products had excess water and a lot of sugar, also rice flour which is often used has a high GI . and that many organic produce are of poor quality.
He stresses everyone should carefully read the content list. Something l learnt to do when some of my C became vegans if it wasn't given as was often the case back in the70's and 80's l didn't buy it.
