As you all know, Clutterbug passed away on Saturday evening. The hospital have told me it can take up to five days to produce the paperwork. The death has to be registered in Kent, so I've got to go to Margate and collect the paperwork and get an appointment at the Registrars locally (I could register the death in Reading, but that gets complicated, as everything has to be sent to Kent, and then returned). I've managed to get an appointment with the Registrar in Deal, on Friday, but the hospital tells me the paperwork might not be ready in time, but they'll "do their best".
I explained that I'm 150 miles away, got to book a hotel and dog kennels, and clear out the flat and see the Housing Warden whilst I'm there, but it fell on deaf ears.
Our funeral director is chasing it for me, as they can't collect him until the paperwork's done either.
I'm getting quite stressed about this. I do wish they'd get their act together.
