Jean or not to jean

My mum wouldn't let me wear jeans(this would have been in the 50's) no idea why, so once l had a job and saved enough l bought a pair, l sort of compromised, plus l tented to be different anyway and bought a grey pair, l have never bought any since. I have made trousers in a denim colour. I rarely wear trousers but do have a few mostly more in a dressy style. Probably only wear a pair once/twice a yr .What l find really annoying are that there are so many lovely tops designed to wear with trousers, often to long to wear with a skirt.
What are your views or thoughts on jeans/trousers?
I even wear long skirts gardening just pull it into a clump at the front and either tie or knot it!!
