Just wanted to say thank you all for the texts, whatsapps, emails and pms, I've received over the last couple of days.
I want to thank you especially for your responses to my post when I was in the little side room with Clutterbug, and the end was drawing nigh. I felt as though you were all with me, holding my hand, whilst I was holding his.
The end was very peaceful. His breathing just kept getting slower and slower, and I talked to him about our childhood, and our parents and I repeated a little rhyme to him that our Mum used to say when she tucked us in at night. And then he just drifted away.
It has all become real now, and I'm a bit under-the-weather today. He wasn't the easiest person in the world (not his fault of course), but his funny little ways often made me smile, and when he was having a good day, he was such fun to be around
We've got to go back to Margate to collect the paperwork from the hospital, register the death, and sort out his flat. I think we're going to kennel the dogs, and go from Thursday to Saturday.
Clutterbug really enjoyed being an Honorary Forum member, and he loved his Forum name...thank you, Bizi. I'll never forget handing him all those get well cards in hospital (thank you for suggesting that, Amelica), and I know that he'd kept them all. Your help and support since he was first diagnosed with cancer in 2011 has been much appreciated. You've all got me through some very difficult times.
