Not forgetting Thursday

Yep, it's here again - one to remember too - 24 hour general strike in Greece from one minute past midnight till Midnight tonight. Airport closed (so glad D hadn't booked to come this Thursday) but this won't affect Mr Putin's flight in. No public transport and all public services closed, demonstrations in Athens from 11.00 am about the pension cuts and high/becoming even higher taxes - another step in the way of bringing Greece to it's knees. About 200 workers from Patra set off walking from there to Athens (over 8 days) and will arrive in Athens tomorrow to protest as well. The weather has been kind to them but bit of a dust cloud forecast for today and tomorrow with mucky drizzle and temps around 24C max. Can't see any sign of a dust cloud here yet but the day is young!

Was going to clean windows and shutters over the next couple of days but Nature has stepped and I will not clean them if they're going to be covered in dusty spots when the rain falls on them so shall have to find something else to keep me out of mischief - probably pulling weeds at least for part of the day. Could go to the market but shopped for veggies yesterday - might top up the fruit bowl however.

Just been looking at Debbie's thread which I didn't post on yesterday but having read it now and looked at the photos she's done her GU proud to the last and what was his funeral was most definitely a celebration of his life, made me smile - you thought of everything.

I hope Rosa is able to obtain everything she needs for her brother today so that she can put him to rest - I haven't heard of such complications and hinderances before. I thought delays only happened if public holidays were involved but obviously not so. Safe travels Rosa and success in your endeavors.

Macarena will be now be safely ensconced in Scotland - just a little bit of envy here in the nicest possible way.
Sounds like VL is having a marvelous time on her travels - wonder if she'll want to come home. Hope that things turn out okay for her on the home front - such a shame when everything seemed to be ready for the move to her new house too. Hope she will be settled soon.

Off to shower and dress and make the most of my day which i hope you all will too. xxx

PS - Good job I re-read my posts - have just had to edit "public" as I slipped off the "l" key and made it something totally 'hair raising' or not - just didn't seem right not to mention it. First laugh of the day!
